The Re-Actualization of Our Dear Nigeria

“When confronted by our worst nightmares, the choices are few: fight or flight. We hope we find the strength to stand against our fears but sometimes despite ourselves, we run.

What if the nightmare gives chase? Where can we hide?”

- Mohinder

What do you do when you are confronted by nightmares? Do you run or do you fight?

What happens when you are faced with a nightmarish experience, task, job, relationship, decision or feeling? Do you run or do you fight?

If you run, will it make the nightmare go away?

If you fight, will you win?
If you do not fight, will you lose?

If you decide not to fight, will you ever find out if you have it in you to give it the fight it deserves?

If you do not want to lose, what will you need to do?

Will you choose to fight because they will say you are weak when you fail to?

Will you decide not to fight because you are scared of scars?

To me, I fight every day because life in itself is a nightmare and through it, I am still able to find a happy place and that is because I fight believing I will win and even when I fail, I always get the consolation that i won why? because i dared to fight.

You do not stop going to sleep because you had couple of nightmares, you say your prayers and hope to have a good night rest; and like sleeping you face life’s nightmares, fight it to a standstill and believe you will win.

The above quote is culled from the Series "HEROES" and it was quoted by one of the characters called Mohinder and believe me that statement stays true to the purpose and reason it was spoken for and I believe you will eventually get it like I have.

Whenever I watch movies and mostly Series, I make it a point of duty to write words that I consider to be of interest and believe me they do have lots of meaning.

In this context, the Nightmare is my dear Nigeria which at the moment can be likened  to the most beautiful girl in the Village with a penchant for the bad boys instead of the Reverend father's son or the young Priest from the City or the Headmaster's son. She will even fight her parents for the love of the bad boy and funny enough she may be under the influence of a more greater power that makes it impossible for her to make decisions that can be considered sane.

Remember…. he who is brave stays free and that means as Nigerians, we must never loose sight of the end line in the race for the betterment of a great nation.
Many people have lost hope about the possibility of the re-actualization of our nation Nigeria and many will be quick to pick their bags and up outta here while they stand afar off and wish us "well".

I am a firm believer in the wealth of the Nigerian Nation and no matter how badly she has dealt me, I will always like a sucker for the bad girl and return to knock on her door hoping that one day and just one day, she will stop courting the bad boys and follow someone like me who still got his head hanging properly.

Like my humble self, there are millions of Nigerian out there waiting for the re-actualization of our dear Nation and just one day in the near future, you will be asked on what side do you stand??

READING

The biggest challenge that has ever faced a civilized nation is their inability to get back to reading after they decided to take time off it. Many times we hear people ask, "but it was in the memo, didn't you read it?"

So have you read what I just wrote? Will you try to keep reading for the sake of creating an environment to get better informed?

Good luck with that.
