PhD

Dear Mr. PhD,

Doxology.

According to the tales of the land, when people speak in parables, it is assumed they can hear the war drums beating in the distance; and in as much as we keep our ears open, we may never really hear the beat as is, but there is that beat that speaks the tunes of war.

Whatever issues we are faced with at the moment is not one to be debated as neither right nor wrong but one that has seriously spun out of control and has left every Nigerian becoming the judge and jury. As a people we have been left with little or no choice to decide the right part to take or not take and we have become particularly unsure the century we are in and it sure doesn't feel like 2013, it really doesn't feel like we are an independent Nation practicing democracy and it makes the whole exercise for a united Nigeria impossible.
We have become an unsure people under your regime of outright brutality, neglect, lawlessness, unemployment, deterioration of the Nigeria ethics, unstable policies, insecurity, terrorism, militancy, loss of the Nations resources etc we have experienced a divide in terms of unification of purpose, dreams and National unity.

The institutions that make up the existence of sound values and ethics have been constantly abused by your dictatorial self, missus, friends, colleagues, errand boys and stewards. We have seen before our very eyes the lack of respect the Nigerian people have been dealt under your regime of "transformation and fresh air". We have been made to swallow lumps of unpleasant pills hearing questionable policies coming to the fore while persons of questionable character are seen taking charge of national treasures of our country and the reason why they are qualified to handle such, beats me because it is noted that you are a learned individual with the highest certification in the land and the first to attain the number position in the country, PhD.

What benefit does the continous display of outright disrespect and wasteful handling of the nation's resources before a people you swore to defend has in store for generations yet unborn?

What examples are you setting after your commencement speech which some declared was the most brilliant since "I have a dream", although I just felt you spoke what was in a good man's heart and I have no freaking idea why you did that?

What values has your entrance into the Nigerian polity has added?

What lessons are we learning as a people from a man whom we stood for hoping he will stand through to the dictates of truth bearing in mind that "he once was without shoes"?

In the wake of your entrant into our consciousness through what many call "divine" arrangement and what I call a mismatch of the century following the criminally insane tendency of a so called farmer who felt he was saddled with the "onerous responsibility" of giving Nigerians the best all in a bid to retain relevance, we have been plagued with various economic and socio hazardous afflictions coupled with wickedness and totalitarian styled leadership, leadership that can be related to that which was experienced in the times of "the thrones and Nero".

We have lost more monies in this short period than in a lifetime and all the more troubling is the fact that history is known to always repeat itself and in your case, it is really happening thereby giving the world a dejavu' feeling.
Over the course of time, rogue leaders and dictators are matched with an equally mean and unfeeling partner who will never call their man to order and we just wonder how come you are in the spotlight for that same reason and knowing fully well you have crossed the line, you bluntly told the world, "I don't give a damn" and in fairness to your excellent self, you shouldn't bother to because the people don't matter.
We have read about how these things happened in the past, how it turned out at the end and I would assume that for someone as yourself, you will tread on the path of caution but you are fearless as you are stupidly wicked and to you the throne is yours for the having because your orientation has been so screwed to lengths of unrepentant Criminal Insanity covered by a face that always appears like the saint while the hand is constantly stained with blood and always wielding battle axes, guns, C4s and detonation buttons.

You have been known to have a penchant for surrounding yourself with characters of questionable talents, talents that will make good read in James Hadley Chase, John Grisham and other Espionage novels and all the more troubling and annoying is the fact that you and your band wagon of petty thieves who are now celebrities go about town displaying stolen loots without recourse to the bleeding national treasury. They have become so used to living the criminal life and jumping around the globe trotting their craft and they have rewritten the constitution of the Federal Republic Nigeria which now states that Criminally Insane persons, Militants, Thieves, Terrorist, First Republic leaders, Attack dogs and the unrepentant lot that have made up your cabinet are now the face of Nigeria.

I mean it is a common fad to switch on your television set to see thieves who had previously been certified thus to be headlining plum offices in the Federal Republic of Nigeria in a time when the majority have become the saints while the very few minority are now the demons working against a vast number with stolen resources. You flip the pages of the newspaper and you read of how militants and common rogues are enriched by your regime that they can afford to talk loud on TV and Radio making boast that they will shed blood for you and there are some who are so big and well placed that they can "dare" to spend as much as N2.2bn for a Private jet when they should be behind bars facing justice for crimes against humanity, murder in all the degrees and any other crime you can think of in the books. We are never allowed to forget in a hurry the number of excesses your wife who is supposed to be your line exhibits going around like the troublesome woman in a popular TV show wrecking havoc in her wake for the husband who is a boxer to come and complete the havoc by pounding anyone who dares.

No one is supposed to talk because your majesty who was given the task to run a Nation like Nigeria to profitability and good history, deem it that the best thing to do is run her into the ground. From your acts, one may be right to call you a little rascal and from the positions you have always maintained, you look more like the one that should have been the right one. I am not your father neither am I your brother by blood, but I am a fellow Nigerian who bled sweat and blood to send you to that position of high authority to represent your people and put Nation first, but all you have constantly done is embarrass us and prove us right in more ways than one and whenever we talk, we are dealt and cautioned to be quite meanwhile the caution has never been of reason for you to take.

Living in Nigeria has always been difficult at least but then it has never been this painful and dramatic with the Nations resources being used to propagate selfish gains and vendettas and for God's sake please put a leash on that partner of yours and pretend for once to be the Man.

This was what you told us and we believed you-"born to a family of canoe makers, holds a BS degree in Zoology in which he attained Second Class Honours. He holds an MSc degree in Hydrobiology and Fisheries biology, and a PhD degree in Zoology from the University of Port Harcourt. Before he entered politics in 1998, he worked as an education inspector, lecturer, and environmental-protection officer."

Now, Seriously??? Who would have this very short but powerful CV and still put the future of the Nigerian Child in the hands of thieves, thugs, touts and murderers? Why would you after having had what sounds like a sound education on motherland make it practically and theoretically impossible for others to have that same luxury? Why would you like "Imhotep" in the movie "The Mummy" on coming back to life after thousands of years (by mistake though), go out and resurrect your "army" to wreck pain, loss, deprivation and instability on Nigeria as if the ones already done by your Predecessor are not enough?

Issues of National importance has been waved aside and the common thing obtained on daily basis is now that of individual interest, Parties, Cabals, Cults and First Couple. It is a common thing to see law makers fighting on National TV, breaking their heads and tossing chairs about all in the name of securing your selfish and demonic interest for 2015 while in the present 2013 you are yet to make a point why you are there. Why would you want to go back? Why would you want to be Nigeria's President again? Why aren't you working to make things better so that our children can get quality education on motherland instead of being ferried overseas to study and some in the sad process lost their lives to racism and gangsterism? Why are you working so hard to destroy the institutions that our forefathers started and even if we would say it was done by default?

PhD my brother wetin you dey do no good at all and you must first learn to be human again instead of being the man that has become an object of ridicule and you are not only that, you have succeeded in putting the Number 1 office in the land in harm's way making everybody take a poke at it for all the right reasons. Students are at home because you have failed to provide a workable solution for our education and in the process of them being at home, many have died in the hands of devilish men because they got to restless and practically took a stroll into the wrong hands. Many students have been seen on daily basis trekking out of Nigeria through the desert in a bid to get quality education outside our shores. People like you have made it a point of duty to make sure your children never pass through the education highway we have here because you have ensured the road is unusable with potholes and gullies that kills.

As I write this piece, I have misty eyes not from tears but from anger and pain wondering why anyone would in their right minds continually mete out these kinds of treatment on her people not giving a damn about the persons he is supposed to be accountable for.
You have become a father that cannot hold his house with you and your partner flexing muscles and engaging in street brawls with your children who can stand up and walk out on you while you are yet speaking.

Please help yourself.

I am @ejemai and I am a Proud Nigerian.
