The transfer window is moving into the final stages and whilst some
teams are tying up deals, there is plenty of business to be done in the
run up to deadline day.
Here is a roundup of some of the latest news and rumours from around the Premier League...
InsideFutbol
claims that Chelsea scout Guy Hillion was in attendance at the
Marseille vs Monaco match at the weekend to run the rule over a couple
of L'Om's brightest prospects.
Chelsea are lining up some potential summer deals and are interested in midfielders Florian Thauvin and Gianni Imbula.
Imbula has been mentioned as a possible target before. He is a big and powerful central midfielder, but has the talent to unsettle opposing defences.
Whereas Thauvin, who was a target for Newcastle in the summer, is more of an attacking midfielder come winger and would have to compete with the likes of Oscar, Willian, Hazard, Schurrle and new signing Mohammed Salah for a spot in Cheslea's team.

1. Chelsea Consider Late Ligue 1 Signings

2. Arsenal Run the Rule Over League One Starlet
Arsenal scouts were in attendance as Sheffield United's Under-21 side faced off against Crewe's Under-21's.
The focus of their attention was Diego de Girolamo, a young Italian striker who has been impressing Premier League scouts. Representatives from Everton were also said to be watching the young forward, according to the Daily Mail's Transfer Column.
The 18-year-old striker is an Italy U-18 international and has just come back from a serious cruciate ligament injury. Diego de Girolamo is also in the middle of a tug of war between England and Italy, who both want the player to represent them at international level.

3. Liverpool and Man City Chase Atletico Star Playmaker
Turan is an experienced Turkish international who has won many plaudits for his impressive displays in Diego Simeone's La Liga title chasing side.
The report claims that Liverpool, in a bid to offset the loss of Mohammed Salah to Chelsea, are considering putting in a £20m bid to rival Manchester City who were already looking at the player.
Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add to his squad before Friday's transfer deadline and would be willing to move for the player now instead of waiting for the summer where he could lose out to the likes of City or Manchester United who submitted a bid for the Turkish midfielder late in the summer window.
4. Moyes for Kroos
The 24-year-old's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and he has not engaged in further talks with the German club over a new deal. The Daily Mail believes Manchester United could be set to bid £25m for the German international before the close of the window.
Meanwhile, the Mirror are claiming Moyes is targeting FC Porto midfielder Fernando to add depth at the centre of the pitch. After failing to make it to the knock-out stages of the Champions League, the Portuguese outfit are looking to offload players to help cope with the financial loss and Fernando could be one of those players on his way out before Friday's deadline.
5. Everton Weigh Up Bid for Forest Youngster
The report claims that Roberto Martinez has made an official enquiry for the 20-year-old central defender, but may face competition from Liverpool and Arsenal for his signature.
Everton were fined £45k for illegally approaching Lascelles back in 2010, but are ready to make a new official approach to secure the highly-rated defender with the option of a loan back for the remainder of the season.
6. West Ham Cause Controversy Over Loe Move
However, the Hammers suddenly pulled their interest in the player after they secured the signing of Antonio Nocerino. Everything had been agreed and the player was in London to undergo a medical when he received word that the deal was off without an explanation.
Osasuna's Technical Director has spoke about West Ham's conduct over the deal.
"Osasuna received an offer from West Ham for Loe and we reached an agreement, which was just pending on the player passing his medical," he said.
"Prior to his trip to London with his representative, we had already agreed everything between Osasuna and West Ham via email.
"Loe travelled on Friday, because on the Saturday he would pass his medical.
"Then on Saturday, they started delaying the medical tests in London, while in Pamplona we received an email in which they told us the matter with Loe was now closed, because they had opted for another player instead, saying sorry and that's all."
7. Stoke to Return For Fletcher and Cattermole
Despite
securing Peter Odemwingie in a swap deal with Cardiff that saw Kenwyne
Jones go the other way, Mark Hughes may be looking for further
reinforcements as the Daily Mail claims the Potters are eyeing a £10m double bid for Sunderland duo Steven Fletcher and Lee Cattermole.
Poyet is looking for all the help he can get in his strike force as Sunderland recently signed Argentina international Ignacio Scocco and recalled Connor Wickham from his Sheffield Wednesday loan, and he may be reluctant to let Fletcher leave if he cannot find a replacement before the end of the window.
However, he does not share the same sentiment over Cattermole as he is willing to listen to offers for the 25-year-old. Poyet has been targeting several other midfielders in the January window including Brighton pair Liam Bridcutt and Will Buckley, and Valencia midfielder Ever Banega. If one of these players arrives at the Stadium of Light, Cattermole will likely be seen as superfluous to requirements and will be allowed to leave.

8. Villa Consider Another Championship Midfielder
The Mirror thinks that Villa could move for the Bournemouth midfielder after giving up in their pursuit of Wes Hoolahan and Steven Defour amongst other targets.
Paul Lambert was credited with an interest in Dale Stephens from Charlton a few days ago and the Scot has shown in the past that he is not afraid to pluck players from the lower divisions and throw them into Premier League action straight away.
O'Kane is having a fine season for Bournemouth and has been attracting interest from numerous sides as his eye for a pass and vision have been noted by visiting scouts.
9. Southampton to Return for Astori
The 27-year-old centre-back was a target of the club this summer before the signing of Dejan Lovren and, coincidentally, Lovren's injury has forced the club to revive their interest in the Italian.
With a number of defenders failing to claim the spot next to Lovren's at the centre of defence as their own, Astori could be brought in to pair with their £8.5m summer signing.
10. Newcastle Identify Cabaye Replacement
The Daily Star thinks that Alan Pardew and Chief Scout Graham Carr have decided the man who can replace Cabaye is Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier.
The only problems for Newcastle is that time is against them to do a deal and Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of Grenier.
Their top target was Remy Cabella, but a move for him has been scrapped after Montpellier claimed that it would take a Gareth Bale like fee to sign the playmaker in January.
Alan Pardew mentioned that he will be trying to bring in a replacement before the deadline closes.
"We would need to bring somebody in, for sure. You can't lose a player of that quality and not replace him," Pardew said on the Cabaye transfer.
"But we are going to need some time to do that."
11. Monaco Tracking Premier League Strikers to Replace Falcao
The Daily Express believes the Ligue 1 outfit are monitoring controversial Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo and Manchester United's super-sub Javier Hernandez.
Osvaldo, who is currently suspended, has reportedly been given an ultimatum that he leave the club before Friday or be fined £250k. It has been reported that several clubs are monitoring the Italian international, but mega-rich French outfit Monaco could be willing to shell out the most money for the Saints outcast.
Hernandez has expressed his frustration with his first team opportunities at Old Trafford ahead of the World Cup in Brazil and could see an exit if Moyes brings in more signings before the close of the window on Friday.
12. Rodgers Explains Why Liverpool Lost Out on Salah
Liverpool had been in discussions with Swiss champions Basel for some time over the transfer, but could not agree upon terms for the player.
Rodgers told The Liverpool Echo that it was purely financial reasons that Liverpool were unable to compete with Chelsea's offer.
“That’s for the money guys to decide that – the construction of the whole deal with the player, the agent and Basel as a football club.
“It was deemed in this case that we couldn’t do a deal, Chelsea could and the boy went there.
“Everyone knew he was a very good player but it’s gone. The club did everything they felt possible to get a deal but it wasn’t to be.
